My name is Cynthia (Cindi) Bates and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (ON #009700) and an EMDR therapist.
My office is in Bells Corners (Nepean) and I work virtually from home as well. I see clients in-person but am currently (during the Omicron situation) only working virtually.
I have an MEd in Educational Counselling and Guidance, and an MA in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Spirituality. I am certified as a Contemplative Psychotherapist (mindfulness, compassion, acceptance practices) through Nalanda Institute, N.Y.C. As well, I am a registered yoga teacher and enjoy integrating posture, breathwork and meditation into therapy for interested clients. I am a relational therapist, believing that most of our emotional wounds and mental health challenges are born within relationship and can only be healed within relationship.
I’ve been using EMDR in my practice since training in the summer, 2021, and I probably use it with at least 50% of my clients, for issues ranging from PTSD and Trauma to depression, anxiety and panic disorders, among others. It is a joy to be a witness to transformative experiences with clients through EMDR.
