’m a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist who offers a safe and non-judgemental space for your healing journey. My approach is focused on ensuring each individual is receiving the most appropriate and personalized care to meet their unique needs. I utilize various modalities such as mindfulness, CBT, emotion-focused, attachment and acceptance and commitment therapy in addition to EMDR psychotherapy to enhance personal wellbeing, resiliency and healing. 

 

EMDR has over 40 years of research to support its efficacy. When we experience an event that is disturbing, we are frequently unable to process it fully when it occurs. As a result, we can be triggered by similar situations in the present that resemble these past experiences, causing us to develop symptoms. We all have an innate ability to process traumatic or distressing events. If too much information comes in at one time, it’s like a circuit breaker goes off and things get “stuck” as stress stored in our mind and body. EMDR can help jumpstart the information that got stuck so that it’s no longer living in the present causing symptoms. EMDR utilizes evidence-based techniques to assist you in processing and adaptively storing this information into long term memory for learning, growth and healing.
